-- Film (programs and unedited footage) from most stations in the network is centralised in Melbourne, from the start of the network in 1956. Video tape in various formats (programs, camera tapes of some news and sports events, news compile tapes, etc.) is held in both Sydney and Melbourne, 1956-present

-- Other 7 Network stations (Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Maroochydore) have smaller collections of local tape material.

Direct access to outside researchers is rarely given - requests must go to senior archives personnel.                                                                                                       The Network also has an external sales facility through Focal International (http://www.focalint.org/footage-and-content-gallery/directory/member/1205/seven-network-australia-the).  

The Seven Network is in the process of digitising samples of its programs from the past and providing copies to the National Film and Sound Archive, where the material can be publicly accessed. The network also participates in the NFSA’s News and Current Affairs project, whereby specified weeks of news are provided to it, material which can be found in the NFSA catalogue.
