-- "The Southern Cross", the official monthly newspaper produced by the Adelaide Catholic Archdiocese, has at various times appeared in different formats and frequency and by other names: "Southern Cross and Catholic Herald", "The Chaplet and Advocate", "The Chaplet and Southern Cross", "Catholic Record", "Catholic Monthly", "Diocesan Newsletter", "SA Catholic", September 1867-present -- "The Irish Harp and Farmers’ Herald", October 1871-December 1872. In 1869 "The Southern Cross" combined with James Hennessey's "Irish Harp and Farmers' Herald" which was published between 1869 and 1873 -- "The Witness", the official paper produced by the Diocese of Port Pirie. It started as a monthly broadsheet but in 1970 changed to booklet format, January 1955-present
